Handbook of Computational Fluid Mechanics
By: Peyret, Roger
Published by: Elsevier Science
This handbook covers computational fluid dynamics from fundamentals to applications. This text provides a well documented critical survey of numerical methods for fluid mechanics, and gives a state-of-the-art description of computational fluid mechanics, considering numerical analysis, computer technology, and visualization tools. The chapters in this book are invaluable tools for reaching a deeper understanding of the problems associated with the calculation of fluid motion in various situations: inviscid and viscous, incompressible and compressible, steady and unsteady, laminar and turbulent flows, as well as simple and complex geometries.

Handbook of Process Algebra
By: Bergstra, J.A.; Ponse, A.; Smolka, S.A.
Published by: Elsevier Science
Process Algebra is a formal description technique for complex computer systems, especially those involving communicating, concurrently executing components. It is a subject that concurrently touches many topic areas of computer science and discrete math, including system design notations, logic, concurrency theory, specification and verification, operational semantics, algorithms, complexity theory, and, of course, algebra. This Handbook documents the fate of process algebra since its inception in the late 1970's to the present. It is intended to serve as a reference source for researchers, students, and system designers and engineers interested in either the theory of process algebra or in learning what process algebra brings to the table as a formal system description and verification technique. The Handbook is divided into six parts spanning a total of 19 self-contained Chapters. The organization is as follows. Part 1, consisting of four chapters, covers a broad swath of the basic theory of process algebra. Part 2 contains two chapters devoted to the sub-specialization of process algebra known as finite-state processes, while the three chapters of Part 3 look at infinite-state processes, value-passing processes and mobile processes in particular. Part 4, also three chapters in length, explores several extensions to process algebra including real-time, probability and priority. The four chapters of Part 5 examine non-interleaving process algebras, while Part 6's three chapters address process-algebra tools and applications.

HIPAA Program Reference Handbook
By: Leo, Ross
Published by: Auerbach Publications
The HIPAA Program Reference Handbook explains all aspects of HIPAA including system design, implementation, compliance, liability, transactions, security, and privacy, focusing on pragmatic action instead of theoretic approaches. The handbook examines: HIPAA programs and processes; HIPAA standards and the compliance of products, policies, and technology; legal impacts and liabilities; transaction requirements; and security and privacy requirements. The section on transactions and interactions discusses the intricacies of the transaction types, standards, methods, and implementations required by HIPAA, covering the flow of payments and patient information among healthcare and service providers, payers, agencies, and other organizations .

'In Silico' Simulation of Biological Processes
By: Bock, Gregory (ed.); Goode, Jamie A. (ed.); Foundation, Novartis (other)
Published by: John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. (UK)
Over recent decades vast amounts of biological data have been accumulated. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to apply traditional theoretical methods to the formulation of coherent pictures of cell and organ function because it is no longer possible for a human theorist to integrate all of the available information. Instead, computer technologies must now be used to perform this integration. This book brings together contributions from many different fields to summarize the current status of computer-assisted modelling of biological processes.
